There are Trail scenes called Catty woods in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania. A small town just North of Allentown Pa. Locals found a spot in the woods and just began digging. Over time people from all over the world came to ride the Ferrari of BMX trails. Their massive in size. Flow like water and are now a legitimate insured trail spot supported by the local Government.
Posh is possibly the most famous of all trailspots in America. Not far from Catty Woods in the town of Bethlehem PA. The Legendary Trails have been standing and active for over 20 years thanks to local riders lead by Jay Lonergran. Both sets of trails are again insured and supported by local Governments. You sign a waiver before you ride. Wear a helmet and go. These type of trails have something to offer everyone. People of all ages and sizes.
To the macho guys thinking Ill go ride there and shred the place..Better bring your bike skills for the BIG BOY Jumps Professional riders drive & fly countless hours to ride places like this. Local kids spend years mastering a place like this. Its truly an ART...
BMX Companies like S&M,Fit & FBM and other brands help support trail scenes like this. Realize you live in the mecca of BMX. Pittsburgh and Eastern PA are known to have some of the worlds best trails and riders. Some of the best riders ever to step foot on a pedal may not be factory sponsored riders but just a local who can rip on home soil. In Greene County a place like this would thrive. If we changed the lives of just a few. We have started something that will carry on to others. INSPIRE 5 and that could quickly turn into 50.
Around here that's not a bad start. Not all parents can afford the best dirtbike or quad. When you work hard for countless hours just to make ends meet. You want the best for your kids with what you CAN provide. A quality bmx bike and the knowledge of " kids are at the bike park I know their safe" means a lot. I know hundreds of coal miners that would like that piece of knowledge before they go underground. I know I hear it all the time as I am one.
Something has to change around here. The more we talk with no action the more kids we lose to Drug / Alcohol addiction. I know friends who have lost kids to alcohol and drugs. Some kids have committed suicide. Ever think they just wanted something to belong too? Something to look forward too?
Can we stop talking and start pushing for something different? We have the votes. US! No one else. If nothing changes ITS OUR FAULT. Everyone has an excuse. I had this or that to do..Voting takes 15 min. Get out there. Make your voices heard and vote.
